چکیده: 

با توسعه جوامع بشری، ایجاد امنیت غذایی در اولویت قرار گرفته است. هر چند جامعه بشری با پیشرفت تکنولوژی و معرفی کودهای شیمیایی و سموم دفع آفات نباتی توانسته باعث افزایش چشمگیر تولید غذا گردد ولی هنوز هم کیفیت غذا جزو مسایل پر اهمیت محسوب می شود. یک راهکار مناسب، کاربرد کودهای با منشا آلی است. از سالیان طولانی، کشاورزان مناطق ساحلی، جلبک های دریایی را برای افزایش رشد گیاهان در مزارع خود استفاده می کردند. امروزه با پیشرفت تکنولوژی، برخی از گونه های جلبک های دریایی، تولید و فراوری شده اند و به صورت جداگانه یا مخلوط با سایر ترکیبات کودی، مورد استفاده تولیدکنندگان بخش کشاورزی قرار می گیرند. هرچند کود عصاره جلبک دریایی، عناصر غذایی ناچیزی دارد ولی به دلیل دارا بودن مقادیر بالایی از مواد تنظیم کننده رشد گیاهی به صورت طبیعی، به عنوان محرک رشد در بهبود و تسریع رشد و رفع عوارض حاصل از تنش های محیطی در گیاهان، کاربردهای فراوانی یافته است.

The present paper is aimed at describing a “closed cycle” power plant schematic (SOFT, Solar Oxygen Fuel Turbine) with macroalgae (seaweed) cultivation in a pond, combustion of its organic matter in a fluidized bed boiler of Rankine cycle and return of the combustion products to the pond to feed algae. The oxygen used for combustion is released to atmosphere in photosynthesis. As a renewable fuel for combustion after drying the seaweed Ulva lactuca is selected. Its growth rate from many experiments (in literature) is 0.1 – 0.2 1/day, heating value of dry weight is 19 MJ/kg, optimal concentration in salty water 1: 1000. Energy efficiency is less than in photovoltaics but energy expenditures to construct the pond as solar energy receiver are much less, it gives some economic benefits. The present paper highlights the interest of immediate combustion of the dried biomass fuel without converting it in liquid transportation fuel. The latter is the cause of additional technological problems and energy losses.

در این تحقیق تولید نانوذرات نقره با استفاده از عصاره جلبک دریایی Sargassum angustifolium با روش زیستی خارج سلولی انجام شد. روش های زیستی تولید نانوذرات نسبت به روش های شیمیایی موثرتر و با محیط زیست سازگاری بیشتری دارند. نتایج به دست آمده از طیف سنجی UV-Vis، TEM و FT-IR تولید زیستی نانوذرات نقره با استفاده از جلبک مورد آزمایش را تایید کرد. پس از اضافه نمودن نیترات نقره به عصاره جلبک، رنگ مخلوط حاصل با گذشت زمان از قهوه ای متمایل به زرد به رنگ قهوه ای تیره تغییر پیدا کرد. حداکثر پیک جذب نانوذرات توسط UV-Vis در محدوده 406 نانومتر مشاهده شد که نشان دهنده احیاء یون های نقره و تولید نانوذرات نقره با استفاده از عصاره جلبک سارگاسوم می باشد. نانوذرات تولیدشده دارای شکل کروی و با اندازه 32.54 نانومتر بودند. همچنین بر اساس آنالیز FT-IR، عامل احتمالی احیاء یون های نقره و تبدیل آن به نانوذرات نقره، ترکیبات فیتوشیمیایی موجود در جلبک سارگاسوم می باشد.

The antioxidant activities ofUlva faciata, Nizimuddinia zanardinii and Gracilaria corticatawere investigated in Chabahar, Iran. Methanol extract and n-hexane, dichloromethane and ethylacetate fractions used for antioxidative properties test by the total antioxidative activity, 2, 2-diphenyl-1-picryl-hydrazylhydrate (DPPH) free radical scavenging activity, reduction power, metal chelating activity and inhibition of lipid peroxidation methods. The methanolic extracts of three seaweed species showed lower antioxidative properties. The most effective antioxidant properties were observed from the EA fractions ofG. corticata and U. faciata. dichloromethane (DCM), fraction of N.zanardiniishowed significantly higher total antioxidative activity, DPPH radical scavenging and power reduction in comparison to its n-hexane, EA fractions and crude MeOH extract. There was a strong correlation between the reduction power (r2=0.94) and the total phenolic content of the seaweeds extracts and fractions. The results indicateU. faciata and G. corticata can be potential sources of natural antioxidants and may be efficiently used as nutraceuticals.

PHYTOSYNTHESIS PROCESS OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES USING BROWN SEAWEED EXTRACT IS SIMPLE, COSTEFFECTIVE, AND ECOFRIENDLY [1]. IN THIS PRESENT INVESTIGATION, THE GREEN NANOPARTICLES PREPARED BY USING MARINE MACROALGA OF NIZIMUDDINIA ZANARDINII WAS REPORTED AND ASSESS THE PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL FACTORS SUCH AS TIME DURATION, METAL ION CONCENTRATION, PH, AND TEMPERATURE THAT PLAY VITAL ROLE IN THE NANOPARTICLES SYNTHESIS. THE MAXIMUM SYNTHESIS OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES WAS ATTAINED WITHIN 45MIN AT PH 8.5, 70P 0 PC AND 1MM AGNOR3R. CHARACTERIZATION OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES WAS CARRIED OUT BASED ON UV-VIS SPECTROPHOTOMETRY (418 NM) (FIG.1), SEM, XRD AND FTIR ANALYSIS (FIG.2). COMPARED TO THE DRIED EXTRACT, THE FRESH EXTRACT HAS MORE POTENTIAL FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF NANOPARTICLES. OWING TO THEIR ABUNDANCE AND READY AVAILABILITY, SEAWEEDS ARE GOOD SOURCES FOR THE SYNTHESIS OF METALLIC NANOPARTICLES. THEY HAVE BEEN LESS STUDIED AND EXPLOITED IN COMPARISON TO TERRESTRIAL PLANTS AND MICROBES. THE PRESENT STUDY IS THE FIRST REPORT ON USING SEAWEED FROM NIZIMUDDINIA ZANARDINII FOR THE PRODUCTION OF AGNPS. THIS METHOD OF AGNPS SYNTHESIS DOES NOT USE ANY TOXIC REAGENTS AND THUS HAS POTENTIAL FOR USE IN BIOMEDICAL AND AGRICULTURAL APPLICATIONS.

CONTAMINATION OF WATER BY TOXIC HEAVY METALS THROUGH THE DISCHARGE OF INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATER IS A WORLDWIDE ENVIRONMENTAL PROBLEM [1]. INDUSTRIAL WASTEWATERS ARE USUALLY THE CAUSE OF HEAVY METALS POLLUTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT. MANGANESE IS ONE OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTANTS, WHICH IS TOXIC EVEN AT VERY LOW CONCENTRATIONS. DOMESTIC AND INDUSTRIAL DISCHARGES ARE PROBABLY THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT SOURCES FOR MN IN THE WATER ENVIRONMENT [2-3].BIO SORPTION IS ONE SUCH EMERGING TECHNOLOGY THAT HAS ATTRACTED INCREASED ATTENTION IN RECENT YEARS. BIO SORPTION EXPLOITS THE ABILITY OF MICROBIAL AND PLANT BIOMASS TO SEQUESTER HEAVY METAL IONS FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTION BY PHYSICOCHEMICAL MECHANISMS. DIFFERENT BIOMASS TYPES SUCH AS BACTERIA, FUNGI, AND ALGAE HAVE BEEN EXTENSIVELY STUDIED IN THE LAST DECADE WITH THE AIM OF IDENTIFYING HIGHLY EFFICIENT METAL REMOVAL BIO SORBENTS [4].IN THIS STUDY, THE ADSORPTION PROPERTIES OF MARINE ALGAE GRACILARIA CORTICOTA (RED ALGAE) FOR MN WERE INVESTIGATED. THE BIO SORPTION CAPACITIES WERE SOLUTION PH DEPENDENT AND THE MAXIMUM UPTAKE FOR MN (II) WITH INITIAL CONCENTRATIONS 75, 100 AND 150 MG/L AT PH 5.5 WAS OBTAINED 90.80%, 93.51%, AND 95.82%, RESPECTIVELY. THE BIO SORPTION KINETICS REVEALED THAT MN UPTAKE WAS FAST WITH 80% OF THE UPTAKE OCCURRING WITHIN 15 MIN OF THE CONTACT TIME AND THE EQUILIBRIUM WAS REACHED AT ABOUT 45 MIN. IT WAS CONCLUDED THAT THE GRACILARIA CORTICATA COULD BE USED AS AN EFFECTIVE BIO SORBENT FOR THE TREATMENT OF MANGANESE, OFTEN CONTAINING WASTEWATER STREAMS.BIO SORPTION EQUILIBRIUM WAS ESTABLISHED BY LANGMUIR AND FREUNDLICH ISOTHERM MODELS. ACCORDING TO THE ANALYSES CONDUCTED, THE BIO SORPTION OF MN2+ TO GRACILARIA CORTICATA WAS MORE CONSISTENT WITH FREUNDLICH ISOTHERM.

Background and purpose: In some countries, seaweeds are famous traditional food which contain different types of secondary metabolites. These marine organisms have several bioactive secondary metabolites. The aim of this study was to perform bioassay-guided isolation of glycolipids from a Persian Gulf seaweed Gracilaria corticata J. Agardh. Experimental approach: G. corticata was collected from the Persian Gulf. The plant was extracted by maceration with methanol-ethyl acetate solvent. The extract was partitioned by the Kupchan method to yield n-hexane, dichloromethane, butanol, and water partitions. The most active partition found in the cytotoxicity assay was further fractionated using medium pressure liquid chromatography and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) methods to yield two pure compounds. The structures of the isolated compounds were elucidated using various spectroscopic methods. The cytotoxic activities of all fractions were also tested. Findings/Results: n-hexane and dichloromethane partitions exhibited higher and significant cytotoxicity against the HeLa cell line with IC50s of 117. 41 and 291. 38 µ g/mL, respectively. The cytotoxic effects of nine fractions of the n-hexane partition against HeLa and HUVEC cells were also ranging from 96. 33 to 243. 56 µ g/mL and 85. 38 to 290. 5 µ g/mL, respectively. Two sulfoquinovosyldiacylglycerides were isolated and their structures were elucidated. Conclusion and implications: From the spectral characteristics, the isolated compound from the extract was confirmed to be α-D-glucopyranosyl-1, 2-O-diacyl-glycerols with moderate cytotoxic activity.
